Amazing read and a great follow up from singing sand. This author's writing is improving with every book and cannot wait to read more. Would recommend reading Singing Sand first if you haven't read it as of yet just so you can get established with the back story.

The character development is fantastic and the ending was a great surprise to me (hopefully haven't given anything away!)

After falling in love with Singing Sand and the amazing characters I couldn't wait for Quietus to come out! From start to finish my heart was racing and the pages kept turning as i had to know what was going to happen next. Chattaway paints such a picture you genuinely feel like you are right there in the book experiencing the highs and lows right beside the characters. If you're an avid reader or just like to dabble here and there I highly recommend both books and look forward to seeing what this talented new author produces next! 5 stars is definitely not enough! )
I was so excited to see that author David Chattaway had written a sequel to the "singing sand" story! An incredibly book full of twists and turns, a book I couldn't put down. I love when you don't know what is coming next and that is exactly what this book does.
I loved learning about the characters in more detail, and was glad to see so many questions I had from the first book Singing Sand, were answered in Quietus.
The story is full of epic detail, it shows passion and it keeps the reader engaged to the very last paragraph.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a brilliant read.
I started this book with high hopes after being left hanging on the edge of my seat at the end of it's prequel 'Singing Sand' and I must say I was NOT disappointed! 'Quietus' manages to tie many strings together which we're left undone in Singing Sand while offering much more than the usual sequel. A complete story in it's own right - the 'Singing Sand' and 'Quietus' series is in a league of its own in that the books are enough on their own and an absolute thrill-ride when read as a complete volume.

I will forever be wondering what was whispered into Jamal's ear! Brilliant!
Quietus is a fantastic part 2 to an incredible debut novel by David Chattaway. It follows on a few months after the ending of Singing Sand. The evolution of each character and the exploration of their emotional turmoil in the aftermath of the events of Singing Sand, provides for a gripping and suspenseful read.

The writing style and the twists and turns within the story meant that I could not put it down. Each book from this author just keeps getting better and I highly recommend both Singing Sand and Quietus to any reader.

I cannot wait to see what he releases next.
After i finished reading Singing Sand I wanted more as i loved the characters i was introduced too. Quietus by David Chattaway has delivered! This was a thrilling return to an amazing character driven story. Jamal is back with his Family and for a second time have to face adversary with unexpected yet thrilling twists, this book is a page turner and displays what talent this Author truly has.

I don't normally write reviews but for Singing Sand i had to and this Follow up deserves recognition.

Quietus is the part 2 to the novella Singing Sand, and I think I like this one better then the first. The writing is the same in both of the novels, all the same characters are used, but the plot line to this was better. Delicious twists and turns make this novella a real page turner.

The novel takes place a few months after the first novella Singing Sand, after the horrifying trip to the lake where unspeakable horror happened to the Nelson family, now we see unspeakable horror come to face Jamal their godson. After his parents were killed and before he met his current family Jamal had his first encounter with Pete Abercrombie. Though it will not be the last. He killed then when the two first met, but will he kill again, with the beautiful girl he's brought along, and the strong silent man who seems to know Jamal personally. Yet, Jamal doesn't know him, can the Nelson family survive another night of horrors.

Just like the first novella there is so much action packed goodness in this story, that a chapter can wear you out, and yet you keep on going against your will.

I mentioned before that I liked this one better, it felt more complete to me. Obviously there can be and are random acts of violence in the world, but it's more believable when it's a vendetta or in this case unfinished business. So for me this one was just a bit more believable then the other. The ending wasn't as satisfying, but a still a good ending.

Either novella can be read as a stand alone book.
